The Try Scuba session will take place in Whitchurch High School pool where one of our fully qualified BSAC instructors will provide full instruction on safety, equipment and basic technique. Then, when your instructor thinks you‘re ready, it‘s into the pool and under the water

Learning to scuba dive can be great fun, and isn‘t as daunting as you might at first think. Especially with Club Training Officer Anne Hudson and her team of qualified instructors on hand to give you all the help you need.

The session includes a certificate and underwater photographs if you wish to have some taken.

When are Try Dives available?

Try Dive sessions take place every Wednesday evening 7.00 - 8.00 pm, and provide an ideal opportunity to have a go in the Whitchurch High School swimming pool.

All you need to bring along is a swimming costume and a towel, the Club will provide everything else.

The whole session typically lasts around an hour to hour and a half, from arrival and includes introduction, demonstration of the scuba equipment, full poolside instruction and pool time.

  • Open to anyone aged 16 and over. (between 16 and 18 we do need a parent/guardian to be present)
  • The try dive will be provided by one Cardiff BSAC‘s fully qualified BSAC Instructors.
  • The try dive sessions are held on a Wednesday evening during term time from 7 - 8pm.
  • Participants need to be able to swim and have a reasonable level of confidence in the water.
  • Participants will be required to sign a medical declaration prior to their try dive.
  • The voucher is valid for 12 months from issue.
Having enjoyed your try-dive, there‘s every chance that you will be hooked, and will want to take up the sport and learn to scuba dive with Cardiff BSAC.
