Pool session Fitzalan – 7:30 – 8:30pm - as ever if you need kit please let me or Steve know asap. We will be back at Sand Martin afterwards.
NB The Cedar Tree as a back up apres club wasn’t bad – easy to get to, and unsurprisingly on a Tuesday might, pretty quiet!
NIGHT DIVE IN THE POOL
This Tuesday we’re planning a night dive in the pool, so those with torches bring ‘em along, even if you don’t intend to go in – we can have a “torch off”, although I suspect I know who will win!
For those presently in the dark, it’s a chance to see whats available before spending your hard earned money!
Me and Steve were the only two daft enough to go in, although, without the usual kit, I got the weighting wrong and bobbed around in the shallows for a few minutes before giving up! Abi was there as part of her university course, to see what rubbish we could bring out of the lake!
Pencil in 30/31st March weekend , potentially for shore diving in Brixham. Possibly a one day trip (Saturday). It's a good neaps and I'm reliably informed parking and access into the bay are easy. Check out brixham dive shack on facebook if you want to get a feel for the place. For those newer members without a sea dive under their belt, this may be the time to get started!
Cossie and a Curry
Cossie and a curry, looking at Wednesday 20th March, followed by a curry at Mo's (by Penarth railway station). As I will need to book, I need to know if you are coming for the curry and/or the dive. Diving isn't compulsory, however be aware that you will need appropriate equipment including a lit smb and a torch plus back up if you want to take part. If you don't have the equipment, ask and we will see what can be begged or borrowed. Friends and family welcome.
Thanks to Mark for the use of the garage and Dave and Steve for their efforts. I was given all the important jobs, so the ropes are tidied and the buoys proudly sport Cardiff BSAC on the side. Main job turned out to be re-attaching the alternator which had snapped its fastening. Mark’s arc welder came into the fray and we shortly had a brand new, and better designed fixing for it (just please don’t ask me what it does)
You should have recently received an email from Bsac regarding the upcoming elections, if you want to check out the candidates, go to https://www.bsac.com/news-and-blog/candidates-for-bsac-council-election-2019-revealed/
Club Kit Hire fees
It has been over 10 years since we have looked at hire charges for club kit. The kit hire has now been increased as follows:
Hire of 10l or 12l cylinder (hired full, returned empty)£10
BCD & Regs for weekend £20
Steve will bring a laminated sheet with him each week to remind you of the costs!
If you are on Facebook, and aren’t yet friends of Cardiff BSAC, please do sign up for that, you may get to hear of dives/events as the details are released!
If you don’t use Facebook, consider signing up – even if you only use it for club information!
Don’t forget we have tide tables for 12 months + on our website – great tool for planning your UK diving! Thanks to Mark for updating!!
